INSTALLING WITH THE RUN-AS WRAPPER

Using the Run-As Wrapper, it is very easy to install multiple new computers without requring those computers to login with administrative rights. The only requirement is a shared folder from which all the computers can run the installer. If that is not available, you could also use a CD. Simply follow these steps:

1. Create a shared folder where the installation files will be located. This folder must be accessed the same way from all computers. For this documentation, we will use \\server\share\folder as the location.

2. Download the BookingBuilder Desktop installer from http://www.bookingbuilder.com/Release and save it in the shared folder.

3. Open http://www.bookingbuilder.com/files/RunAsWWithRuntime.zip and save RunAsWWithRuntime.exe in the shared folder.

4. Login to our web site, click Edit Groups, edit the Group to receive the new computers, click QuickLink, and create a Quicklink.

5. Open http://www.bookingbuilder.com/files/CreateBBDUpdateInf.zip and run CreateBBDUpdateInf.exe. Click the "Manual" button and you will see:

Fill it in as follows:

• Domain: Enter the domain with the username that has installation rights
• Username: Enter the username with installation rights
• Password: Enter the password for the above domain/username
• Quick Link: Enter the last ten characters from the QuickLink created above. The QuickLink will look something like http://www.bookingbuilder.com/bbdesktop/ql.aspx?A233D1BFBA. You should enter only the A233D1BFBA part into the blank.
• Optionally check the two installer options. It is usually best to check them both.
• Click Save. Make sure you save the file in the same shared folder where the installer was saved.

6. Once this is complete, simply have each user run RunAsWWithRuntime.exe from the shared folder. That program will read the file with the encrypted login, decrypt it and run the installer under that login. The computer will not be logged in under that login, so there is no reduction in security. It is usually easiest email the agents the full path, such as \\server\share\folder\RunAsWWithRuntime.exe
