Step 1 – Search
When you make a flight availability search on your GDS*, a small yellow BB Desktop box automatically pops up in the corner of your screen. It tells you which low-cost carriers fly the same city-pair you are searching.
Step 2 – Compare
With a single click, BB Desktop’s Instant Fare Quote function springs into action for your chosen city pair. On a single screen, it can display:
- Fares for low-cost carriers
- Regular fares for traditional airlines
- Web-only fares for traditional airlines
You can even capture the results and e-mail them to your customers with a couple of clicks.
Step 3 – Book
Choose the flight your customer wants and click the ‘Book’ button. BB Desktop will automatically find the airline website, fill in all the flight and passenger profile details and then navigate to the purchase page. Alternatively, you can override profile details, to accommodate regional differences such as form of payment, if desired.
Step 4 – Manage
When the transaction is completed, BB Desktop automatically moves the booking information back to the GDS and enters the reservation details in a PNR. The information it transfers includes passenger ticket numbers, passive and/or non-passive air segments, and pricing and tax details.
*The software works with all the main GDSs: Abacus, Amadeus, Apollo, Galileo, Sabre & Worldspan.
